Projects
Transform
TRANSFORM (Transformational Strategies for Farm Output Risk Mitigation) advances animal health innovations to boost farmer resilience and public health. A public-private initiative by USAID, Heifer International, Cargill, and the International Poultry Council, TRANSFORM strengthens value chains to enhance farmer livelihoods and global health security.
Waste To Worth
Waste to Worth is a circular business initiative converting paddy straw and biomass into upcycled products, targeting a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from biomass burning. By 2030, it aims to partner with 60,000 families in Andhra Pradesh and 200,000 farmers across South India to prevent 1.5 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.
Regenerative Food
Grameena Vikas Kendram empowers farmers to shift from chemical-intensive methods to affordable, climate-smart regenerative farming. Our program emphasizes animal husbandry, soil health, crop diversity, and natural pest management to build resilient, food-secure farming systems. This initiative is supported by essential funding from the Hugo Boss Foundation in Germany.
Regen RND
We developed Participatory Guarantee Systems (PGS) as a cost-effective, community-driven alternative for organic audits to empower smallholder farmers in the Global South. The Regen RND Project adapts PGS for eco credits, creating a guide for participatory verification to enhance access to eco-friendly incentives.
Garment Biographies
Inspired by Museum Rotterdam's heritage garment collection, this project will launch a multilingual, smartphone-friendly platform for exploring garment history and materiality. It connects local and global narratives, positioning heritage objects as catalysts for fair, sustainable, and circular garment chains.
Farmers' Initiative
Grameena Vikas Kendram and Wheels Global Foundation, USA, are collaborating to advance rural development through sustainable water management. They are addressing water scarcity and inefficient irrigation by creating a groundwater conservation framework with affordable technology, currently being tested in Kurnool District, Andhra Pradesh, to enhance farmers' water management.
Resilient Food & Fibre Landscapes
Grameena Vikas Kendram has partnered with the Commonland Foundation (The Netherlands) to restore landscapes and build resilient local economies. Our approach focuses on four key returns: inspiration, financial growth, social benefits, and natural restoration, promoting a future that supports nature and livelihoods.
