Aneel Kumar Ambavaram

Aneel has about 16 years of experience in working with small and marginal farming communities. He has a proven track record first with leading multinational companies followed by rural development organizations. Sustainable farming, Organic and FairTrade cotton, team building and leadership, project designing and management, training / capacity building programs, field reseach and marketing are his areas of expertise.

Aneel is a social entrepreneur and founded two successful innovative social enterprise projects. Beyond India, he worked for a number of international assignments that included feasibility studies. He spearheads Grameena Vikas Kendram Society for Rural Development, an NGO working for sustainability causes in India. Aneel has a bachelor`s degree in Agricultural Sciences from A. N. G. Ranga Agricultural University, India and Msc degree in Organic Agriculture from Wageningen University, The Netherlands. Also, he is a Master Trainer certificate holder (FAO of the UN) in conducting Farmer Field Schools.

Sarat Babu Gidda

Vice President

Sarat Babu Gidda is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering who has spent part of his academic tenure at McGill University in Montreal. Sarat's entrepreneurial journey started in his final year of graduation when he joined Grameena Vikas Kendram to realise his aspiration of becoming a Social Entrepreneur. He has 4 years experience in Program Management, Supply Chains, Strategy and Operations. Sound analytical capacity, risk mitigation, strategy, negotiation and public speaking are his key skills. He has a deep interest in the fields of sustainable textiles, regenerative farming, climate change, sustainable energy and circular economy.

Sanne van den Dungen

Director - Sustainability & Operations

Sanne has MSc in Plant Sciences with a specialisation in nutrient management and smallholder farming systems. She has two bachelor’s degrees, one in Organic Production Systems from Wageningen University, The Netherlands and the second one is in Fine Arts.

Sanne is an expert in sustainability across cotton supply chains and has extensive knowledge and experience on Cradle to Cradle and Circular economy and restorative business concepts that is gained from years of work experience at EPEA (Environmental Protection Encouragement Agency). She has firsthand experience in designing organic farming systems. Sanne can contribute both as a leader and as a team player for success of organic cotton projects. She is particularly interested in building cotton value chains from farmer to end consumer.

Marci Zaroff

Director - Strategy

Marci is an internationally recognized ECO lifestyle visionary, authority, innovator, and educator and has been instrumental in driving authenticity, environmental leadership & social justice worldwide for over two decades. Marci is the founder of MetaWear, sits on the Board of the Organic Trade Association, the Textile Exchange, Fashion Revolution USA, and Cradle-to-Cradle’s Fashion Positive, and is a founding member of Chetna Organic, a non-profit in India with over 15,000 farmers in their organic, Fair Trade cooperative. She brings decades of innovation, sales, marketing, and standards experience to the RESET program.

Tholisaku Nagulaiah

Tholisaku Nagulaiah is an MSc. graduate in social work. He has worked extensively on agriculture and rural development projects for the past 15 years. He has an expertise in capacity and institutional building. He has worked devotedly towards gender equality and rural development by improving livelihoods in the rural communities in the South of India.

Srinivasulu Doodati is a graduate in Social work. He has extensive experience in project management and extension activities. He has worked on multi projects both private and government.

Drishti Modi

Research Consultant

Drishti is a recent graduate in Environmental Studies and Resource Management from TERI School of Advanced Studies and Bachelors in Zoology from University of Delhi. She has undertaken a number of social and environmental impact projects during the course of her post-graduation. She is passionate about working in the direction of developing sustainable solutions for rural empowerment and urban development to ensure sustainable production and consumption of resources. Her long-term vision is to develop an entrepreneurial venture that embodies the Slow Clothing philosophy. In her free time, you are most likely to find her, either reading or planning the next vacation.

Himakiran Anugula


Himakiran is an organic farmer and promoter of organic farming in Tamilnadu. He is passionate about agriculture and has spent quite some time deliberating on issues it faces and networking with govt officials, bank staff, farmer leaders/groups. He has experience working with a few thousand farmers over 8 districts in Tamilnadu over the past 6 years.

Advisory Board

DR SARAT BABU GIDDA is the Head of the Conservation and Sustainable Use unit, Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity, UNEP. He is an ecologist with over 25 years of experience in natural resource management and in situ conservation. Dr Gidda served the Ministry of Environment of the Government of India, participated in the formulation of India’s National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan, as well as the development and implementation of India’s biodiversity legislation and biosafety regulations. He holds Masters and PhD degrees in Ecology, and another Masters in Rural Resources and Environment Policy from the University of London.
Gijs Spoor is a pioneer in organic cotton programs and founded two biggest organic cotton programs- Chetna Organic Cotton and Zameen Organic. He received the prestigious Ashoka Fellowship (Rural Innovation & Farming) as recognition for his unrivalled commitment to bold new ideas and innovative solutions to social problems that changed patterns across society. As a founding Director at UnLtd Tamil Nadu, he supports outstanding people committed to social change, using their passion and entrepreneurial skills. Mr Spoor has an MSc degree in Organic Agriculture (Wageningen University, The Netherlands) besides extensive hands-on experience in agricultural projects in Africa and India. He is an expert in hybrid profit/non-profit Organisation Development, Business Development, Strategy, Systems thinking, Fairtrade, Organic, Supply Chain Development, Rural Development, Trading, Human Resource Management and Fundraising.
Raj Janagam works on high-impact businesses in the capacity as a business coach, entrepreneur, and consultant and have coached over 50 start-ups. He is currently running Surge Impact Foundation as the Founder CEO and has previously set up UnLtd Hyderabad. Apart from running start-up ecosystems, he works with private corporations, non-profit and government institutions such as Dept of IT and Communication - Govt of Telangana, TSIIC, GHMC, PMC and Ministry of Urban Development. Raj is a Philosophy graduate and an MBA in Social Entrepreneurship. He is on a mission to reduce suffering and inequality through social entrepreneurship, business, CSR, non-profit and politics. He is also interested to discuss ideas related to Public Transport, Urban Governance, and Politics as a tool for Social Change.
Jui has worked with high-impact business incubators like Villgro and UnLtd India in the capacity of building social entrepreneurship base in 18 cities of India through Villgro's Unconvention|L and Speaker Series program. She understands the Incubators/ Accelerators scale-up the process through her extensive study on Incubating Incubators in India and South East Asia. She has also supported early-stage enterprises through capacity building workshops, mentoring and network in India's 8 low-income states. Apart from building start-up ecosystems, she has worked with private corporations, non-profit and government institutions such as State Government of Orissa, Maharashtra, Pune Municipal Corporation and Ministry of Urban Development. Jui is also a 'Mentor for Change' for Government of India's NITI Aayog program for supporting early-stage enterprises, she also Mentors women entrepreneurs through the 'Lean In Mumbai Circle' which focuses on scaling women lead the business in India. Jui is also a visiting faculty at TISS and NMIMS helping the Social Entrepreneurship students to build their ideas into business models. Jui is a trained expert in Bicycle Sharing Systems in developing countries and is the co-founder of Cycle Chalao! Her Research and study of the social impact of Akanksha Foundation were supported by the University of Cambridge. Apart from being a Political Science graduate and an MBA in Social Entrepreneurship from NMIMS University, Jui is also an expert on Right to Information Act and has conducted workshops for students, journalist and slum dwellers.
